Every year, hundreds of thousands of drivers are affected by vehicle recalls. The likelihood that you own — or will own — a recalled vehicle is extremely high, so pay attention. Recalled vehicles are fixable as long as you stay informed.
Let’s take a look at recent RAM recalls. If you own a vehicle on our RAM recall list, we’ll help you determine if your specific make and model was affected and let you know how to resolve the recalled defect safely. If you’ve failed to repair your broken vehicle, we will explain how to pursue a claim outside the recall parameters and get compensated for your defective purchase.
Rearview Camera Failure
Approximately 273,000 2022-23 RAM 1500 pickups were recalled in October 2023 due to a rearview camera defect.
- According to the recall notice, a software inconsistency between the camera system and the onboard radio caused video to fail to display when reversing. Drivers with affected vehicles have limited visibility during reverse, increasing their risk of collision while backing up.
- Dealers will remedy the issue for free by updating the faulty software.
Turn Signal Malfunction
129,000 RAM 1500 trucks (2023-24 models) were recalled in October 2024 due to a turn signal defect.
- According to the recall notice, affected turn signals remained active after completing turns. The defect confuses other drivers and increases the risk of accidents.
- Stellantis will remedy the issue by replacing the steering column control module for free.
ABS Software Malfunction
1.2 million RAM 1500 trucks (models 2019, 2021-24) were recalled in September 2024 due to a software malfunction in the anti-lock braking system (ABS) module.
- According to the RAM recall notice, the software malfunction disabled Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) systems, increasing the risk of accidents.
- Dealers will remedy the issue with a free software update.
ESC System Failure
Approximately 33,800 RAM 1500 trucks (2025 models) were recalled in October 2024 due to faulty front wheel bearing encoder rings.
- According to Stellantis, the defect can disable the ESC system, diminishing drivers’ maneuverability in wet conditions.
- RAM dealers will remedy the issue by replacing compromised front wheel hub assemblies for free.
Headlight Software Module Defect
Certain 2025 1500s affected by the ESC RAM recall are also being inspected for headlight module software defects.
- According to Stellantis, impacted vehicles were set up with the incorrect headlight module software, which caused the headlights to fail unexpectedly and impair nighttime driving.
- RAM dealerships will remedy the issue by reprogramming the headlight module software for free.
